Website of economic anthropologist and filmmaker, Jen K. Hughes. Jen is a doctoral candidate in Sociocultural Anthropology and Linguistics at the University of Minnesota (Ph.D. expected in 2020). Her dissertation examines storytelling, queerness and the economic and political effects colonialism, utopian capitalism and human/non-human engagements in Iceland, Northern Europe and the U.S. Jen is a professional video and web producer, ethnographic filmmaker and is in production on her first feature-length documentary, Viking Futures.
